For rail transport, the reassessments of the expansion and new construction projects were carried out by the ‘Bundesschienennetzmodell Deutschland’ (Federal Rail Network Model Germany) working group, specifically by the companies Intraplan Consult GmbH and TTS Trimode Transport Solutions GmbH. The reassessments were carried out in accordance with the BVWP assessment methodology, but based on the results of the 2040 traffic forecast, with updated cost and value estimates and, where applicable, current project knowledge and construction costs. The interaction of these factors leads to some significant changes in traffic impacts, which means that the results of the reassessments may differ significantly in some cases from the assessment results prepared as part of the BVWP 2030 and published to date in PRINS.
Overall, the re-evaluation results for thirteen different transport planning measures in Germany and cross-border transport were published.
More information on the reasons, background, individual measures and their results, including other modes of transport, is available on the BMV website at: Dossiers on re-evaluations
