The 2040 rail transport forecast was developed by Intraplan in collaboration with Trimode. In rail passenger transport, for which Intraplan is responsible, growth in traffic volume is around 23% and in traffic performance around 71% compared to the analysis year 2019. These growth rates are based on the forecast assumptions and structural effects as well as on the expansion of services in accordance with the target timetable for the Germany-wide integrated timetable and are significantly higher than those in the 2030 transport integration forecast and earlier forecasts.
